VisibEL is a tangible map of Sweden modelling the electricity production. There are cities, placeable power plants and factories that can be connected to the power grid. It is an educational game which is based on scenarios. The main users are children between the ages of nine and twelve. By playing this game, children can learn about different types of power plants, how much energy they produce and how much they cost to build and run...Please visit our website and visit us at the exibition IDXPO at Lindholmen Science Park.

A very good overview of the whole energy situation (in swedish, sorry):
ReplyDeleteWhere the energy comes from and is used
Energimyndigheten has got teaching materials (in Swedish) and a whole website devoted to teaching about energy. They have a teaching material "the Ashton island" that is somewhat similar to our idea. The students are just supposed to give a solution and then discuss why they did as they did, so it doesn't have any built in intelligence like our (possible) project but it's quite interesting anyway. It's not limited to just electricity though... Let's talk on Monday.
